Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that Nigerian winger Nathan Tella has signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 2031.
Sporting director Simon Rolfes expressed his delight at the extension, praising Tella as both a top-quality professional and an influential figure within the squad. He highlighted the player’s importance on the pitch as well as his strong presence in the dressing room, noting that his commitment to the club is clear every day.
Rolfes also pointed to Tella’s speed and technical ability as key qualities that continue to strengthen the team.
Tella, in response, described the new deal as a reflection of his strong bond with the club. He said he feels very settled at Leverkusen and looks back on his time there so far as highly successful. The 26-year-old added that he is excited to be part of a new and developing squad, expressing confidence that the team will continue to achieve its ambitions in the coming years.
Tella joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2023 from English Championship side Southampton, and has been with the Bundesliga club ever since.
