Bomb explosion kills Civilian JTF leader in Borno State

A bomb explosion has killed Abba Godori, the Civilian Joint Taskforce (CJTF) vice chairman of the Kawuri unit, in Kawuri village, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The explosion occurred on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and claimed the life of Godori, who was on patrol at the time.

An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that Godori stepped on a bomb believed to have been planted by terrorists a day earlier. “Mr. Godori was following the terrorists’ footsteps during his patrol when he stepped on the bomb,” the source said.

When contacted, ASP Nahum Daso, spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, stated that he had not yet been briefed on the incident.
