Chelsea, a Premier League club, is contemplating the prospect of securing a loan deal for either Karim Benzema or Roberto Firmino in January to address their team’s lack of firepower.

This decision follows the substantial £1 billion investment in players since Todd Boehly assumed control of the club two years ago. As reported by Sports Mail, Chelsea is prepared to make additional expenditures this month, with a striker being their top priority.

Nicolas Jackson, signed for £37 million from Villarreal in the summer, has scored eight goals in 23 games across all competitions. On the other hand, Christopher Nkunku, a £50 million signing, has found the net once in three Premier League appearances after recovering from a knee injury that kept him out for the first three months of the season. The Telegraph suggests that Firmino and Benzema are the two strikers identified by Chelsea.

Reports indicate that the former Real Madrid striker, Benzema, has been excluded from Al-Ittihad’s mid-season training camp in Dubai. This exclusion is attributed to his repeated failure to join the team, with his representatives claiming that he is stranded in Mauritius due to a tropical storm, where he was on holiday.

The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner signed a lucrative three-year deal worth £258 million with the Saudi club in the summer.
