Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke, has been summoned by the Department of State Services (DSS) over allegations of sponsoring fake news against Femi, the son of Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
The invitation comes in the wake of a news report published by an Abuja-based blogger, alleging that Femi is involved in extortion activities targeting directors of the Ministry of Marine. Following the blogger’s arrest by DSS operatives, she reportedly implicated Rasheed as the sponsor of the report. However, Rasheed has vehemently denied providing any information to the online publisher regarding Oyetola’s son.
Rasheed has expressed his readiness to meet with investigators over the weekend. Additionally, he has taken legal action by filing an originating summon before a Federal High Court in Osogbo against both the DSS and Femi Oyetola, seeking to enforce his rights.
Among the reliefs sought, Rasheed is requesting a restraining order preventing the DSS from inviting, arresting, or detaining him. This legal move underscores his commitment to defending his rights and challenging any perceived infringement on his freedom.
