Nigerian international Kingsley Ehizibue has completed a free transfer to Serie A side Genoa after leaving Udinese at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The 31-year-old right-back made 32 Serie A appearances for Udinese last season, taking his total to more than 115 appearances and four goals during his four-year spell at the club.
His contract with Udinese expired in June without an extension, paving the way for his move to Genoa.
Genoa confirmed that Ehizibue has completed his medical examinations and signed a multi-year contract with the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
In a statement, the club said the defender made 32 Serie A appearances last season, scoring two goals and featuring for more than 1,900 minutes.
Genoa’s chief of football, Diego Lopez, welcomed the signing, highlighting Ehizibue’s pace, stamina and experience in the Italian top flight.
“Ehizibue brings sprint, ample mileage, and knowledge of the league: always a plus. With Kingsley, we’ve finalized the full-back roster. We’re counting on his athleticism and adaptability to be ready to contribute quickly,” Lopez said.
Ehizibue also expressed his happiness after completing the move, revealing that he had previously turned down an offer from Genoa.
“As a believer, it’s the best way to ask for forgiveness after having backed out of the offer I received years ago. Things change, and my outlook has changed. I want to get involved, and I feel joy in knowing I’ll be representing Genoa. I thank the club,” he said.
