The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared eight individuals wanted in connection with a multi-million naira fraud involving Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), a now-defunct digital trading platform.

Those named include Adefowora Olanipekun, Adefowora Oluwanisola, Emmanuel Uko, Johnson Okiroh Otieno, Israel Mbaluka, Joseph Michiro Kabera, Serag Michiro, and Seyi Oloyede. The suspects are accused of orchestrating fraudulent activities that led to massive financial losses for unsuspecting investors.

In a notice published Friday across its official social media channels, the EFCC urged members of the public with any useful information on the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward.

“The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear above are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” the agency stated.

The EFCC reaffirmed its commitment to cracking down on cyber-enabled financial crimes, especially within the fast-evolving digital asset space. The CBEX platform reportedly collapsed earlier this April, wiping out over ₦1.3 trillion from investors’ wallets and leaving thousands of Nigerians in financial ruin.
