Gunmen Abduct APC Chairman in Ondo State

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Nelson Olaseyinde Adepoyigi, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifon Ward 5, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, May 12, 2025, along the Benin-Ifon-Owo expressway. Adepoyigi was reportedly kidnapped at the entrance of his farm.

Confirming the abduction on Tuesday, May 13, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated: “I can confirm to you that the APC Ward 5 chairman was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along the Ifon-Owo road.”

Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ifon, along with local hunters, members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), and Nigerian Army personnel, launched a manhunt to track down the suspects.

The police have called on members of the public with useful information to assist in the ongoing rescue efforts.
