The Islamic Republic of Iran issued a stern warning to the United States to refrain from involvement in its conflict with Israel, following Tehran’s retaliatory drone and missile strikes prompted by an attack on its consulate in Damascus, which resulted in the deaths of several army generals.

In a statement from Iran’s United Nations mission, the military action was described as a response to what Iran perceives as aggression by the Zionist regime against its diplomatic premises in Damascus. The warning to the US emphasized that any further provocations by Israel would elicit a more severe response from Iran, asserting that the conflict is solely between Iran and Israel, and the US must not intervene.

While expressing hope that the retaliatory action would prevent further escalation, Iran stressed that the matter should be considered resolved. However, the US quickly signaled its support for Israel by intercepting drones bound for Israeli territory, and Britain also pledged its readiness to assist.

The April 1 strike, attributed to Israel, targeted the consular annexe of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, resulting in casualties including seven Revolutionary Guards, among them two generals. The Guards issued a warning to Israel and the US, cautioning that any aggression would be met with a proportional response.
