The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has apologised for the delay in releasing the latest batch of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, assuring candidates that the scores will be made available later on Sunday, April 19.

The board had earlier indicated that results for candidates who sat the exam on Friday, April 17, 2026, would be released the following day. However, the delay left many candidates frustrated as they awaited their results.

In a statement, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin attributed the delay to the temporary absence of the board’s chief executive, who was attending an official engagement.

He noted that the issue has now been resolved and confirmed that the results would be released before the end of the day. “We sincerely apologise for the delay… We assure you that the results will be released later today, surely before nightfall,” the statement said.

JAMB also apologised to candidates who stayed up expecting the release, thanking them for their patience and understanding. The delayed batch comes after the earlier release of results for candidates who sat the exam on Thursday, April 16, with over 600,000 results already published.

Candidates are advised to check their results via SMS by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number linked to their registration.
