The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it has withheld the results of 39,834 candidates from the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which had over 1.9 million applicants.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made the announcement on Friday, May 9, while officially releasing the 2025 UTME results.

He explained that the results were withheld due to issues related to examination irregularities.

Additionally, Prof. Oloyede revealed that 41,000 underage candidates had registered for the exam, with 467 of them meeting the required minimum score. He also noted that 50 candidates were involved in a cheating scandal.

This comes amid ongoing investigations into examination fraud, with 80 suspects currently under interrogation across the country.
