Lagos Police Arrest Man for Stealing Fence Wire

The Lagos State Government has arrested a 27-year-old man, Adamu Ismail, for allegedly attempting to steal a fence wire mesh at Peace Park, Ojota.

Ismail was apprehended earlier today, August 25, by officials from the Lagos State Parks and Recreation Agency.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the arrest on X, emphasizing the government’s stance against vandalism.

He stated, “Acts of vandalism against public infrastructure will not be tolerated. These facilities belong to all of us, and protecting them is a shared responsibility. We will continue to enforce without compromise to safeguard public assets across Lagos.”

Ismail has been handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps for further processing and is expected to be prosecuted for vandalism of public property.
