
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of 11 victims and the arrest of three individuals involved in operating a baby factory in the Ijegun area of the state.
At a press briefing on Monday, the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the illegal operation was discovered on April 5, 2025, following a tip-off. Police conducted a raid on the factory and arrested three suspects, including the facility operator, Mariam Vincent (35), and two accomplices, Orie Ruth (23) and Ujunwa Ifeanyi (18).
Hundeyin further explained that during the operation, officers rescued several victims, including three children aged seven, five, and two.
A total of seven women and three children were freed from the facility, all of whom had been held against their will. The adult victims were identified as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26), while the children rescued were Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2).
The rescued individuals are currently receiving care and support.
During questioning, the suspects reportedly admitted to abducting victims from various parts of the state to operate the baby factory.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects are expected to face charges in court.
