A man and his female partner, identified only as Peace, tragically passed away from inhaling power generator fumes in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, over the weekend.

According to eyewitnesses, the couple brought their generator into the passage near their room on Friday and left it running overnight. The following day, Saturday, May 23, their neighbors noticed they hadn’t emerged from their room. Suspicious, they forced open the door and discovered the couple’s lifeless bodies.

A local resident, Chima, mentioned that some neighbors immediately went to the Central Police Station to report the incident. The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the development, stating that preliminary investigations suggest the couple may have died from inhaling generator fumes.
