Manchester United set to loan out Andre Onana again to Trabzonspor

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly on the verge of returning to Trabzonspor on loan for a second consecutive season.

The Cameroon international has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the emergence of Senne Lammens, who has established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are willing to approve another temporary move to the Turkish side after Onana enjoyed a successful spell there during the 2025–26 season. The goalkeeper played a key role in helping Trabzonspor win the Turkish Cup, defeating Konyaspor in the final in May.

While the Premier League club would ideally prefer a permanent transfer to recoup part of the £47.2 million they paid Inter Milan for his signature in 2023, a loan deal is currently considered the most likely option.

The 30-year-old still has two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, but he is no longer expected to feature in Manchester United’s long-term plans. His substantial wages and experience also make a backup role at the club an unlikely arrangement.
