The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has formally petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to investigate and prosecute renowned musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1 De Ultimate) over an incident that occurred aboard a ValueJet flight on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

According to a statement from the NCAA, the incident disrupted standard flight operations and raised serious concerns about passenger conduct and aviation safety.

Preliminary reports allege that K1 De Ultimate engaged in actions during flight VK201 that violated the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) 2023.

In a letter addressed to both the AGF and IGP, the NCAA called for a thorough criminal investigation and prosecution in line with existing aviation laws and all other applicable statutes.

The Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, also issued an advisory to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), recommending the temporary placement of K1 De Ultimate on a no-fly list, pending the conclusion of the investigation. This, the agency stated, aligns with global aviation practices aimed at safeguarding passengers, crew, and operational integrity.

The NCAA emphasized its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct within the aviation sector, reiterating that all individuals, regardless of social status, must adhere strictly to aviation rules and protocols.
