Hon Ned Nwoko of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared Senator-elect for Delta North.
The Returning Officer, Dr. Josephine Okeakwa, who declared the result at Oshimili South LGA, said Nwoko polled 92, 514 votes from the nine local government areas of Delta North to defeat his closest rival, Mr Kennedy Kamma, of the Labour Party (LP) who garnered 86,121 votes.
Barr Peter Nwaoboshi of the All Progressives Congress(APC) placed third with 36,816 votes
The PDP candidate won in Aniocha North, Ika North East, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani LGA’s, while the Labour Party won in Aniocha South, Ika South, Oshimili North and Oshimili South, which turned in 30,993 votes for the party out of the 46,591 votes cast in the LGA.
