Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced a sweeping reorganization of the management board of Kano Pillars Football Club, appointing former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa as the new General Manager.

The announcement was made public through a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa. The move follows the expiration of the previous board’s one-year term and is part of a broader strategy to revitalize the club.

“This is more than a routine reshuffle. It’s a calculated move to merge football expertise with effective management,” the statement read. “Ahmed Musa’s inclusion signals our commitment to attracting investment, motivating players, and reigniting the passion of our fans.”

Musa, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished footballers, brings a wealth of experience from top-tier clubs in the English Premier League, Russian Premier League, and Turkish Super Lig. He also wore the captain’s armband for the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, and began his professional journey with Kano Pillars.

Reacting to his appointment, Musa said, “Kano Pillars has always held a special place in my heart. I’m deeply honoured by this opportunity. With the talent we have, the support of our fans, and a solid structure, I believe we can set our sights on greater achievements and bring trophies home.”

The announcement has sparked enthusiasm among fans and stakeholders, many of whom remember Musa’s early days with the club and see his return as a powerful symbol of hope and ambition.
