
Nigerian actor and filmmaker Kayode Peters, best known for his role as Koko in the TV series Flatmates, has passed away. He died in Toronto, Canada, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, after a prolonged illness.
A statement released by his family confirmed his passing:
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Kayode Peters Adewumi, who passed on peacefully this morning, June 28, 2025, in Toronto, Canada.
KP bravely battled a long-term illness with strength and courage until his final breath.
A devoted son, husband, father, brother, and friend, KP was a gifted actor, filmmaker, and producer whose work inspired and entertained many. Beyond his creative talents, it was his warmth, kindness, and generosity that defined him. He touched countless lives both on and off screen and will be deeply missed.”
The family has requested privacy during this difficult time as they begin funeral preparations.
