Retail outlets of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) have increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, across parts of the country.
NNPCL filling stations in Abuja and surrounding areas raised the price from N1,155 per litre to N1,270 per litre, representing an increase of N115 per litre.
Several other fuel marketers have also adjusted their pump prices upward following the latest increase.
Amid the price hike, some NNPCL and MRS filling stations in Abuja were temporarily shut, with motorists reporting closures at several outlets.
The latest adjustment marks the second increase in petrol prices by depot owners and marketers in less than a week.
The development follows the decision by Dangote Refinery to resume the sale of refined petroleum products in US dollars.
