Elon Musk has stated that claims about widespread starvation in Africa are exaggerated, amid online discussions about whether he should use his wealth to help address hunger on the continent.

The debate resurfaced as Musk’s net worth continues to grow, with some social media users suggesting he could play a major role in ending global food insecurity as he edges closer to becoming a trillionaire.

Responding on X (formerly Twitter), Musk dismissed the idea that hunger is widespread in Africa, writing: “People in Africa are not starving. This is a myth.”

He added that food shortages, in his view, mainly occur during periods of conflict, arguing that such situations would require intervention to resolve.
