Men of the Delta State Police Command have arrested one Musa Buhari over the alleged murder of a commercial motorcyclist in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Confirming the arrest, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, said the suspect was apprehended after police recovered the victim’s mobile phone from him.
According to Edafe, Buhari and his accomplice, Manu Usman, who is currently on the run, allegedly lured the victim into a bush, attacked him with a hoe, and made away with his motorcycle and phone.
He explained that on October 7, 2025, the Agbor Division received a report that one Friday Orumgbe, 53, of Idumu-Oza, Agbor, who left home the previous day with his Lifan motorcycle, had not returned. Acting on the report, the DPO Agbor Division, CSP Michael Obekpa, launched a discreet investigation into the disappearance.
Following sustained intelligence efforts, police operatives arrested Musa Buhari, 25, of Alihagu Village, Agbor, on October 16, 2025, and recovered the victim’s Tecno T101 phone from him. During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed that he and Usman, now at large, posed as passengers, lured the victim to a bush along Power Line near Oki, Agbor, and attacked him with a hoe before stealing his motorcycle and phone.
Edafe further disclosed that, based on the suspect’s confession, the DPO led operatives and the suspect to the crime scene on October 17, 2025, around 8:05 a.m., where the decomposed body of the victim was discovered.
He added that the remains were identified by the victim’s family and deposited at the Central Hospital Mortuary, Agbor, for autopsy. The suspect, Edafe said, remains in custody as investigations continue.
