Police arrest two over m8rder of 32-year-old man in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old man, Sirajo Abdulhamid, in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He said the suspects allegedly attacked Abdulhamid while he was travelling on his motorcycle, shot him, and made away with the vehicle in the presence of his wife and another woman.

According to the statement, the incident occurred on December 16, 2025, when Abdulhamid, a resident of Badara village in Dull ward, was riding a Boxer motorcycle to Burga village. He was conveying two female passengers identified as Khadija Abdulhamid, 25, and his wife, Asiya Sirajo, 20, when they were attacked by armed assailants.

Following a report from a good Samaritan, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, directed a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer of Bununu Division, SP Jamilu Kabir, alongside local security operatives and hunters, to the scene. The victim was evacuated to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he was later confirmed dead while receiving treatment. His remains were subsequently released to his family for burial after an autopsy.

Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Isah Shuaibu, 18, and Abdulsalam Shuaibu, 20. An identification parade was conducted, during which the deceased’s wife reportedly identified the suspects as those who attacked them and stole the motorcycle.

Police said investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court upon its conclusion.
