American rapper DDG has filed an emergency motion to prevent actress and singer Halle Bailey from traveling overseas with their one-year-old son, Halo, as their increasingly public custody dispute escalates.

According to TMZ, the motion was filed on Wednesday, June 4. DDG claims that Halle’s planned trip to Italy on June 7 poses a significant risk, alleging she may not return to the U.S. He argues that the travel could present an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their child.

In the legal filing, DDG cited several past incidents to support his concerns. He alleged that during Halle’s pregnancy, she once took his firearm and left the house without explanation. He later found her outside with the weapon, though it was never discharged. He also claimed she once considered having an abortion without discussing it with him.

The rapper further alleged that Halle sent him a series of disturbing text messages, including threats of self-harm and suggestions that their son could also be in danger.

Halle Bailey, however, has made serious accusations of her own. In May, the Little Mermaid star was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG, claiming he physically assaulted her. In court documents, she described one incident in which DDG allegedly slammed her face into a steering wheel during a custody exchange, chipping her tooth. She reportedly included photographic evidence with her filing.

In response to the travel concerns, Halle clarified that the upcoming trip to Italy is work-related. “I have family and a nanny who will be traveling with me to care for Halo while I am working,” she said in court documents obtained by TMZ.

A court ruling on DDG’s emergency motion is expected soon.
