Nollywood actor Stan Nze has stated firmly that he won’t risk his life for the sake of a movie role.
In an interview with The Nation, the actor described it as pure foolishness to put himself in danger just to prove his acting prowess.
He explained that professional stunt performers are trained and well compensated to handle dangerous scenes, and it’s not his place to take on their role.
He said,
“Why would I risk my life jumping from a dangerous height in a movie? That’s what stunt actors are for. They are skilled and well paid to perform such stunts. They know how to jump and handle other risky scenes safely.
“I’m not going to be foolish and jump from a dangerous height just to be the best actor in Africa, only for people to observe a minute of silence and then move on — that’s stupidity.
“I’ll stick to what I’m meant to do, and let the stuntmen do their job.”
