Cristiano Ronaldo began his 25th professional season in style, scoring his 977th career goal as Al Nassr secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Al Riyadh on Friday.
The 41-year-old Portugal captain was named among the substitutes by new Al Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou before being introduced in the 62nd minute, with his side already leading 3-0.
Abdulelah Al-Amri, Ângelo Gabriel and João Félix had put Al Nassr firmly in control before Ronaldo came on.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner sealed the victory with seven minutes remaining, converting Aiman Yahya’s low cross from close range to make it 4-0.
The goal moved Ronaldo closer to the historic 1,000-goal milestone and marked his 130th goal for Al Nassr across all competitions since joining the Saudi club in December 2022.
