Security Operatives Prevent Bandit Attack in Katsina

Security operatives have successfully thwarted an attack by suspected bandits in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, the police confirmed on Sunday, March 16.

In a statement, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, revealed that the operation took place on Saturday, March 15, in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC).

According to Sadiq, the bandits were preparing to launch an attack on Dan Takuri village when security forces acted on intelligence. He explained that operatives swiftly descended on Maijele Mountain, where the bandits had gathered, resulting in a fierce gunfight. During the exchange, one armed bandit was neutralized, while several others managed to flee with injuries.

The security team recovered an AK-47 rifle with ammunition, a motorcycle, suspected Indian hemp, soft drinks, a cutlass, and other dangerous drugs from the scene.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, praised the operatives for their professionalism and courage, reiterating the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He assured residents that security agencies in the state remain devoted to maintaining peace and stability.
