Former Senator Shehu Sani has criticized the cashless policy introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele. Sani called the policy disastrous and poisonous and said it has led to hardship for bank customers.
He criticized the CBN for not taking into account the status of Nigerians and called the bank a political institution that has become a source of misery. Sani also questioned why the policy was introduced at the end of President Buhari’s term, especially considering the timing of the 2019 re-election.
He concluded by calling out the Senate for failing to check the CBN’s excesses and said the House of Representatives has a clear position on the matter.
