The Kwara State Police Command has arrested popular singer Habeeb Okikilola Badmus, widely known as Portable, following a petition filed by his senior colleague in the music industry, Okunola Saheed, popularly known as Osupa.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the petition accuses Portable of several serious offenses, including criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, character assassination, use of abusive language, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

“Given the gravity of the allegations and the evidence provided, the Command obtained a valid arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin,” the statement read. “Acting on this warrant, officers proceeded to Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Sunday, April 13, 2025, where the suspect was apprehended at approximately 7:25 p.m. He was immediately transported to Ilorin for further investigation.”

The police confirmed that upon his arrival, Portable’s statement was taken in the presence of legal representatives from both sides.

SP Ejire-Adeyemi added that Portable remains in police custody, and preparations are underway to charge him to court without delay.
