The Super Eagles of Nigeria have secured qualification for the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco following a 3–2 victory over Tunisia on Saturday night at the Fez Stadium.
Nigeria took the lead just before halftime when Victor Osimhen finished off a well-delivered cross from Ademola Lookman in the 44th minute. Five minutes into the second half, captain Wilfred Ndidi doubled the advantage, once again benefiting from Lookman’s assist.
Lookman then got on the scoresheet himself in the 70th minute, converting a pass from Osimhen to make it 3–0 for the Super Eagles.
Tunisia responded with a goal from Montassar Talbi and added late drama when Ali Al-Abdi converted a penalty, but it was not enough to deny Nigeria the win.
The result leaves Nigeria top of the group with six points from two matches, confirming their place in the knockout stage, while Tunisia remain second with three points.
