A 32-year-old man identified as Fwangmun Karimu has been killed in an attack at Sabon Gari Village in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 10:15 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, after troops of Sector 8, Operation Hakorin Damisa (OPEP), responded to a report of an attack in the community.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops arrived at the scene and found that Karimu had been shot dead by suspected assailants believed to have infiltrated the community from the Mangu Halle axis.
The attackers reportedly used the heavy rainfall to conceal their movement before fleeing the area.
The victim was subsequently buried according to local customs.
Security forces have launched efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible, while troops continue to maintain a presence in the area to prevent further attacks.
