“The Yoruba Race Struggles with a Problem — Fear,” Says Lagos Pastor Bolaji Idowu

Lagos-based pastor, Bolaji Idowu, has stated that fear remains a significant challenge among the Yoruba people.

Speaking during a recent sermon at his church, Pastor Idowu said:

“There is a problem with the Yoruba race — even among those who are 48 years old — and that problem is fear. Life yields to the courageous but works against the fearful.”

He went on to contrast this with what he described as the fearless nature of the Igbo people:
“That’s one thing I admire about the Igbos — they are bold. There is no country in the world where you won’t find an Igbo person striving. You can’t achieve anything meaningful in life if you’re driven by fear.”

Pastor Idowu further emphasized that fear often leads to self-doubt and stagnation, particularly among the youth.

“One reason many people never rise or move forward is fear. And fear leads to self-doubt. That’s why I’m speaking to you now — especially while you’re still young — because it’s at this stage that you can conquer it,” he said.
