Two Suspects Arrested for Stealing Church Generator Battery

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID), have arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of a 100Ah Mikano generator battery.

The suspects — 20-year-old Dad Yusuf and 17-year-old Gibson Husseini, both residents of Upper Luggere in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area — were apprehended on June 28, 2025. During interrogation, they confessed to stealing the battery from the LCCN Cathedral in Jimeta on the night of June 23, 2025, around 11:00 p.m.

Confirming the arrest, police spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje said investigations are ongoing to identify additional accomplices and recover other possible stolen items. He added that the suspects will be charged to court once the investigation is complete.
