Amid Rising Insecurity, President Tinubu Meets with NSA, Defence Chief at State House

Concerned by the escalating wave of insecurity across the nation, President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday met with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting comes shortly after the President’s return to Nigeria on Monday night, following a 19-day trip to France and the United Kingdom.

During his absence, the country witnessed a surge in violent attacks, including widespread killings and abductions, particularly in Benue and Plateau States. In the past three weeks alone, over 100 people have reportedly been killed in renewed assaults by unidentified gunmen in both states.

The high-level security meeting underscores the President’s concern and urgent focus on tackling the deteriorating security situation.
