Four Almajiri students have reportedly died after consuming suspected contaminated food in Kano State.
The students, who were Quranic learners at Malam Iliyasu Mai Tsangaya in Kadage Sharifai, Ungogo Local Government Area, were taken to Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for treatment after falling ill.
According to the National Chairman of the Tsangaya Media Network, Alaramma Sani Musa Nuhu, the students sadly died at the hospital on Sunday night, August 16.
The statement did not disclose the type of food consumed or the substance suspected to have caused the poisoning.
Their remains were later buried after approval was obtained from the district head and the area police officer.
