Trump Urges Iran to Make Nuclear Deal or Risk Harsher Israeli Strikes

U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Iran to agree to a nuclear deal with the United States “before it is too late,” warning that continued resistance could lead to even more devastating Israeli military action.

His comments follow a series of Israeli airstrikes early Friday morning targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure, after the collapse of U.S.-Iran nuclear talks and a rare censure from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over Tehran’s lack of cooperation—its first in over two decades.

Loud explosions were reported in northeastern Tehran, prompting the suspension of all flights at Imam Khomeini International Airport. While Israeli officials said the strikes were aimed at strategic targets, including nuclear sites and missile facilities, images circulating online showed damage in residential areas, raising fears of civilian casualties.

The airstrikes reportedly killed three senior Iranian military commanders, including IRGC Chief Commander Hossein Salami, along with six nuclear scientists, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions.

Iran insists its nuclear program is for peaceful energy purposes, while Israel maintains it poses an existential threat.

In his first public response, Trump took to Truth Social, claiming he had tried to resolve the situation diplomatically. “I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to ‘just do it.’ But no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done,” he wrote.

Trump warned that Tehran’s refusal to compromise had deadly consequences. “Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!”

He emphasized that further military action was already planned and could be even more destructive if Iran continued to resist.

“There is still time to make this slaughter end. Iran must make a deal before there is nothing left—before the last remnant of what was once the great Iranian Empire is destroyed. No more death, no more destruction. JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE,” Trump concluded.

Meanwhile, the Iranian government has vowed to retaliate, with military spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi warning that both Israel and the United States would “pay a heavy price” for the deadly airstrikes.
