Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has again criticised former governor of the state and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Speaking at a campaign rally in the state on Saturday, September 19, Soludo questioned Obi’s contributions to the Igbo people and his political relevance to Anambra State.
Speaking in Igbo, Soludo said:
“Ask him, since he has been in politics, what has he brought to the Igbos? Look at the bad state and erosion in Anambra for a long time. Since he started politics, what has he done about it?
“Then, when it is time for election, you come and start playing with our emotions and still want us to waste our votes on you and remain where we are. It won’t happen again.
“2026 will be different. We Igbos will get our share this time around by voting right.”
The remarks came amid an ongoing public dispute between Soludo and Obi over issues including Anambra’s finances and the former governor’s record in office.
