According to a statement released on Saturday, August 30, 2025, by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the incident followed a disagreement between the two women over a domestic issue involving children.

“On 9/8/2025 at about 9pm, a female resident of Peter Sarki Road, Tunga, Minna, reported at Tudun-Wada Division that on 7/8/2025 at about 12pm, she had a dispute with her neighbour, Hadiza Bala a.k.a Mama Sabir, over her children’s excreta being left near Mama Sabir’s room. The matter was later resolved,” the statement said.

However, the victim reported that on August 9, around 8pm, Hadiza allegedly ambushed her within the compound and poured hot water on her, causing severe burns to her face and chest.

Police promptly arrested the suspect, who was investigated and has since been charged to court for attempted culpable homicide and causing grievous harm.
