A 26-year-old man named Ebere was found dead on Monday morning, June 23, in a hotel room at Midwifery Junction, Okpanam, Delta State.
According to reports, Ebere checked into the hotel around 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, accompanied by a friend.
At about 6 a.m. on Monday, hotel staff were alerted after the friend discovered Ebere’s lifeless body on the floor and raised the alarm.
“The CCTV footage shows the young man checking in with a friend. His friend said they woke up and found him dead,” a source told Punch.
Delta State Police Command spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and said the friend has been taken into custody pending an autopsy.
“The suspect will not be released until an autopsy is carried out to determine the cause of death. The hotel management reported the incident, and the body has been taken to the morgue,” the police public relations officer added.
