The Federal Government has offered a two million Naira bounty for information leading to the arrest of Mrs. Adachukwu Kukelu Okafor, who allegedly subjected her 10-year-old maid to severe burns on her private parts and body.

The case gained attention after a video showing the naked girl with burns on various parts of her body, including her buttocks, private area, and face, circulated on social media. Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, announced the government’s decision to declare the suspect wanted during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, February 12.

According to Ohanenye, despite efforts to locate the suspect, who is believed to be a lawyer, she has been evading authorities by changing her contact information while actively posting on social media. The minister emphasized the urgency of bringing the suspect to justice, stating that no action will be spared.

Ohanenye reiterated the ministry’s commitment to advocating for the rights of women and children nationwide, urging Nigerians to assist in locating the suspect. In addition to the bounty, the ministry plans to implement measures to protect underage maids and address cases of wage withholding.

She called on whistleblowers to report cases of child abuse and exploitation, emphasizing the importance of collective action in safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
