55 Suspected Internet Fraudsters Arrested in Ogun State

Operatives from the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested fifty-five suspected internet fraudsters in a recent sting operation.

The arrests took place on Wednesday, July 6, 2025, at K Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro area of Ogun State, following credible intelligence about the suspects’ involvement in fraudulent online activities.

The commission identified the suspects as Ogunniyi Oluwaseun, Babalola Ibrahim, Dada Qowiyu, Kunle Ajayi, Rufai Suleman, Babajide Shedrack, Oloyede Toheeb, Monday Joseph, Akinbode Babatunde, Oyedipe Michael, Adekunle Jeremiah, Mustapha Muyideen, Mike Opeyemi, Bale Abayomi, Odukoya Samuel, Joseph Oyegunle, Bakole Abayomi, Babalola Michael, Tajudeen Adeyemi, Ogunsola Habeeb, Amao Samson, Amuleya Matthew, Aroleyun Ifeoluwa, Babalola Ayomide, Popoola Oluwaloseyin, Mayowa Fasola, Muhammed Bahil, Asiru Qoyim, Babatunde Qudus, and others.

Additional names include Akande Ibrahim, Ojerinola Tumininu, Adedokun Hassan, Ogundele David, Opakunle Ayomide, Adeniyi Israel, Yusuf Sikiru, Jimoh Olamilekan, Tosin Abiodun, Bamiduro Afeez, Lamina Usman, Bakare Farouq, Ilori Michael, Segun Titiloye, Anifowose Musa, Idowu Peter, Laisi Ibrahim, Olaofe Emmanuel, Akeem Obabunmi, Afolabi Michael, Afolabi Idris, Bamidele Ibrahim, Godwin Joshua, Adeeko Ayoola, Owoeye Kolawole, and Mutiu Olude.

Recovered items include six luxury cars, two locally made pistols, a motorcycle, numerous mobile phones and laptops, incriminating documents, and eighty-nine unclaimed phones, among other evidence.

The suspects have provided valuable information to the Commission and are expected to be charged to court soon.
