Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, the Sokoto state House of Representatives member representing the Isa-Sabon Birni federal constituency in the lower chamber, has passed away. He was a first-time member of the House, belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to reports from DailyTrust, the lawmaker succumbed to a brief illness around 12:30 am on Wednesday, October 11. He fell ill on Tuesday and was subsequently admitted to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The deceased legislator’s body has been transported to Sokoto for a burial following Islamic customs. The House’s spokesman, Hon. Akin Rotimi, confirmed the sad event and mentioned that an official statement regarding the incident would be issued in due course.
