Gunmen believed to be assassins have fatally shot Dr. David Adefikayo, the medical director of Dafikayo Clinic in Kanbi community, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State. The tragic incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, when the assailants forcefully entered the victim’s residence and shot him in the presence of his wife and children.
Despite the doctor’s plea to the gunmen, offering money and other items, the attackers remained unmoved. Additionally, the assailants abducted one of the doctor’s daughters, 23-year-old Christiana Adejoke Alabi. The community is in shock and mourning over the loss of the highly respected medical professional who had made significant contributions to local healthcare.
Ejire Adeyemi-Adetoun, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident, stating, “They killed the doctor and abducted his 23-year-old daughter during the incident.” She further mentioned that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and other officers are actively engaged in a search for the criminals in the surrounding bush.
