Gunmen have tragically taken the life of Alaba Excel Abbey, a campaign coordinator for Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Abbey, who also served as the Returning Officer for Ward 10 in Supare Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area, was shot dead in front of his home. He was a dedicated ward coordinator for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot-Soldiers (LACO-SF).
Confirming the incident, Abbey’s elder brother, Samuel Abbey, revealed that Alaba was assassinated around 9 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, shortly after returning home.
The group, through its State Information Director, Mr. Kayode Fasua, disclosed that Abbey was actively involved in campaigning for Governor Aiyedatiwa until his untimely demise.
The State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, assured that an investigation into the case has commenced. “The command is aware of the incident at Supare, and the investigation is ongoing to unravel all that happened,” she added.
