Johnbull Osagiede, identified as the victim, met a tragic end at the hands of his abductors in Edo State, after they extorted a ransom of N9 million from his family. Osagiede was abducted in Evbohen quarters, Idumebo community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, last week by suspected kidnappers. A family source, speaking anonymously to PM News on Thursday, revealed that the kidnappers initially demanded N15 million from Osagiede’s wife for his release. Despite the family’s compliance, paying N9 million in two installments of N3 million and N6 million at the kidnappers’ designated location, the perpetrators callously ended Osagiede’s life after receiving the money. His lifeless body was later discovered by the community vigilante along the pipeline road, near Iguelaba community. The incident has been reported to the Ugo Police Division by the community, marking another tragic chapter in the ongoing battle against kidnapping in the region.
