Erik ten Hag has broken his silence four months after leaving Manchester United earlier this season.
The Dutch manager has been without a job since being replaced by Ruben Amorim following a difficult start to the season. Despite Amorim’s arrival, United’s form hasn’t improved, with the Red Devils currently sitting in 15th place.
Ten Hag was linked with the Borussia Dortmund job after Nuri Sahin’s departure in January, but the role went to Niko Kavic instead. There has also been speculation about a potential return to Ajax, although Francesco Farioli’s team is currently leading the Eredivisie.
After leaving United with a Carabao Cup and FA Cup under his belt, Ten Hag is expected to be in high demand across Europe at the end of the season.
For the first time since his exit, Ten Hag will speak publicly in a sit-down interview with the SEG Stories podcast. The interview will air on Tuesday, with a trailer released on Monday showing the former United boss discussing his future and what he misses most about England.
“I had already decided for myself, ‘Okay, I’m not doing anything until July 1’,” he said. “If there’s one thing I miss, it’s Old Trafford. You’re always working towards a dot on the horizon, but you never get to the horizon.”
“We’ve had many highs, there’s always room for improvement, and good is not enough. You can do better.”
