Popular TikTok personality Fati Cele has been detained by the Kano State Police Command following the death of her boyfriend, Isma’il Makaye, at her residence in Kano.
According to a report by Punch, police confirmed that the social media influencer is currently in custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A source alleged that Cele raised an alarm over a fire outbreak at her residence, after which Makaye was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later died.
Police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed her detention but declined to give further details, citing an ongoing investigation. Makaye, a cosmetics trader in Kano, has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
