The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has clarified that Nigeria’s Visa on Arrival policy is not being scrapped, but rather upgraded to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo made this statement during a meeting with Princess Zarah Audu, the Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), in Abuja.

The Minister explained that travelers would still be able to apply online for short-stay visas, with approvals granted within 24 to 48 hours. Once approved, the visa will be sent directly to the applicant’s email, eliminating the need for a physical sticker upon arrival.

He emphasized that this upgrade builds on the existing online approval system, simplifying the process and allowing travelers to receive their approvals in advance.
