Chelle Announces Super Eagles Squad for World Cup Qualifiers Against Lesotho and Benin

The Super Eagles’ head coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled a 23-player squad ahead of the critical 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and the Benin Republic.

Malian tactician Chelle has handed a first-ever call-up to Sevilla striker Akor Adams, while captain William Troost-Ekong leads the squad with his wealth of experience. Returning to the national team after some time away are defenders Semi Ajayi and Terem Moffi, along with midfielders Alhassan Yusuf and Olakunle Olusegun. Stanley Nwabali retains his position as the first-choice goalkeeper, supported by backups Amas Obasogie and Adebayo Adeleye.

The defensive unit features Felix Agu, Bruno Onyemaechi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Benjamin Fredrick, and Calvin Bassey, creating a strong backline to challenge the upcoming opponents.

In midfield, the squad boasts a blend of skill and tenacity with players like Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and Alhassan Yusuf all ready to command the center of the park.
