Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have uncovered and sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly used to produce adulterated alcoholic drinks in Badagry.
The operation, which was carried out following credible intelligence from members of the public, led to the arrest of 48-year-old Anaebo Emeka Hilary at Yafin, Badagry, where the suspected factory was located.
Police said several items were recovered from the facility, including suspected adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, assorted wine labels and various production utensils believed to have been used in the production and packaging of the drinks.
The facility was subsequently sealed, while Hilary was taken into Police custody for questioning. The recovered items have also been taken to the station as part of the ongoing investigation.
Reacting to the development, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to the information received.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations aimed at tackling criminal activities across the state.
