Bola Tinubu on April 13 held a high-level security meeting at the State House in Abuja with the country’s top military, police, and intelligence chiefs amid growing concerns over Nigeria’s security situation.

The closed-door session included the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Anele; the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi; the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed; and the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu.

Also in attendance was the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, along with other senior security officials.

The meeting comes amid heightened tension following a controversial Nigerian Air Force airstrike in Yobe State that reportedly resulted in the deaths of more than 20 civilians.
